WEATHER CONDITIONS

Season phenology: average

Weather conditions:

We were not present long enough to speculate on effects of weather. "Break-up" occurred the end of the first week of June. Many creeks and rivers started flowing in this very short time period.

Season temperature:
Season humidity:
Date of 50% snow-cover: 4 June
Date of ice-break on rivers: 1 June
Date of final loss of snow:

BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Rodent dynamics:

Greenland Collared Lemmings present in other years were not observed in 2000. Not very many voles seen, but still a bit early in the season and lots of snow cover in the time of visit, which does not allow to evaluate their abundance.

Rodent species recorded:

LatinAbundance
Microtus oeconomusrare

Summary of fauna studies:

Ongoing analyses of abundance data will be available in the next year or two.
